Art for a Geek Like Me

Occasionally I'll stumble into a artist's website only to find that their art is unavailable to me. My favorite place to display pictures and art is my computer desktop, but often serious artists don't offer high resolution images for download. I understand this choice, but for me it makes their art inaccessible. I suspect I am not alone, though I probably am a pretty small minority.

And so a geek like me finds himself largely ignorant of the traditional art world. My art comes from blogs and on-line galleries of amateurs. Occasionally it comes from an artist who actually groks the the modern world, but those also seem to be the minority.
